Description
The “Plate of blossoms!” box contains 5 types of edible flowers and herbs.
Marigold petals give rice, salads and soups a mildly aromatic seasoning. Brew the petals for a very tasty tea.
Nasturtium is a true classic: the flowers, leaves and buds are edible. The tart aroma rounds off salads, egg dishes and dressings. The buds can be pickled and used in place of capers.
Borage: the beautiful blossoms are also edible and can be used to decorate desserts or salads. They react with vinegar and then change their color.
Moldavian Dragonhead: strong lemon flavor, but slightly different than lemon balm. Lemony-aromatic tea and spice plant, great in herbal salt (use in fish dishes, for example).
Annual Aster: just eat the blossoms. Here’s the rule of thumb: the more intense the color, the more flavor. Especially popular in salads.
We’ve included a planting calendar so you always know exactly when it’s time for seeds to germinate. Use the included gardening twine to lay out a plot. Additionally, the Beet-Box includes wooden stakes for each type of seed – use a pencil to label these markers when sowing.
