Vigorous solitary plant or border plant; for cottage gardens. Excellent cut flowers (cut before the top buds dehisce).
Lupins flourish best in moist, nutrient and humus-rich soil in sunny or slightly-shaded locations.
Lupins should not be transplanted. Pruning plants once they’ve bloomed allows them to bloom again in autumn, at which point the leaves should not be cut as they protect the plant from the cold.
