Environmental protection and sustainability are very important to us. As a climate alliance and climate:active company, we have implemented many environmentally friendly measures: from an environmentally friendly power and energy supply for our company to a logistics concept that has been awarded by the Ministry of Food – it helps us to protect our environment. As a company with 30 employees, we were awarded the Climate Alliance company in 2008.

Our journey to a climate alliance and climate:active operation

The first step
Four locations in Ried im Innkreis that are harmful to the climate and energy were the reason for the complete relocation of operations to Taiskirchen im Innkreis in 2006 with the aim of establishing a new, CO2-neutral operating location.

The following measures were taken in the area of ecological sustainability:

Heat recovery
The existing wood chip heating was overhauled and reactivated. The material required for this comes from the farmers in the region.

The existing oil heating was removed and replaced by a solar system with 20,000 liters of buffer storage.

Electricity generation
Since February 2007 our company has been using green electricity from 100% renewable energy.

Award for the Climate Alliance operation in December 2008
In November 2009 we started up a 10,000 kWh photovoltaic system, and another 20,000 kWh system went into operation in April 2013.

The vision of “electricity self-sufficiency”, namely to produce the required 70,000 kWh yourself, lives.

Logistical measures
By renting two external warehouses, switching to natural gas cars for the field staff and by specifically selecting our logistics partners according to their environmental standards, we are making a significant contribution to reducing CO2 emissions.

From 2019, we will switch to an environmentally friendly and sustainable grass paper solution for the packaging material for organic seeds and lawn seeds. This measure deliberately dispenses with plastic as packaging material in the company.

Award for competence in climate protection in October 2009 (climate:active)

The sustainability debate is seen in our company as a permanent process and not as a cost factor.
