Lawn maintenance in autumn

Who doesn’t know it? After a dry summer, a few bare and brown spots have appeared in many gardens, which have to be repaired now.

Early September is an ideal time to sow lawn seeds. In September, the summer drought is usually over and the ground is still warm enough for the grass seeds to sprout quickly.

When temperatures fall, the lawn should be mowed to a height of about five centimeters: If the grass is longer, it can rot; if it is too short, the roots lack protection against the cold. Leaves that have already fallen down can be mowed with the grass.

Have a nice September in your garden!
