Valerian needs sufficient light to germinate – when sowing, tamp the soil with care. May be sown in wide pots on the balcony or terrace. Valerian is rather simple to maintain, however the soil should be kept damp at all times. Plant in perrenial beds and at the water’s edge for a most decorative effect. The sweety scented blossoms attract numerous insects like bees, butterflies, beetles and hoverflies.
