Keeps well. Great for sauerkraut.
Cabbage prefers deep, calcareous soil. Water abundantly (especially as the heads are forming) and fertilize multiple times.
Sow sparingly. Plant cabbage seedlings deep in the soil allowing only the cotyledons to protrude. Add stability by hilling up around the seedlings. Cover with foil in order to harvest 1-2 weeks early.
White cabbage can be used for vegetable dishes, sauerkraut, cabbage rolls and as lettuce.
